How to Use Protein Shakes for Women
Protein is an essential component of the muscle-building and fat burning process. But when it comes to the question of how to use protein shakes, many women don’t even know where to begin.
Protein shakes aren’t just for athletes or bodybuilders. In fact, women may actually benefit more from protein powder than men do according to some recent studies that found that men who are involved in a general fitness program typically have enough protein in their diet, whereas many women fall short.
Protein powder is a great supplement for women who are looking to build muscle or burn fat.

How to Use Protein Shakes for Women
Protein Shake: WHO IS IT FOR?
PEScience Select Protein is the protein powder that I personally use and recommend to my clients. This protein powder should be used by anyone who is looking to add more protein to their diet. While the majority of people who use protein supplements are athletes and bodybuilders, Select Protein is a clean and premium protein that is suitable for anyone wanting more protein.
Protein Shake: WHAT DOES IT DO?
PEScience Select Protein is an easily digested, amazing tasting blend of whey and casein protein, a combination that is superior to 100% whey protein for building muscle.
Protein Shake: WHEN SHOULD YOU TAKE IT?
PEScience Select Protein should be taken on a daily basis if you are looking to increase protein in your diet. On training days it should be taken post-workout. Additional servings may be taken throughout the day depending on your protein requirements.
Here are a few things you need to know regarding the timing of your protein shakes:
- The most important time is right after a workout. Your muscles are like a sponge and need instant nutrition for muscle recovery and growth.
- Another time that many women benefit from protein shakes is right before bed. You’re about to sleep for 6 to 8 hours. That’s a long time without protein. Could you imagine going through your day (when awake) not eating for 6 to 8 hours?
- I also recommend women use either a protein shake or BCAAs (read more about branch chained amino acids here) right upon waking. Same thing as mentioned above, you’ve just gone 6 to 8 hours without proper nutrition. Your body needs protein, or at the very least BCAAs, quickly.
