I can’t believe last weekend was our big fitness competition.
I’ve gotten lots of questions about how I prepared for the fitness competition, so here’s a recap.
Even if you’re not training for a bikini competition, the information I’m sharing with you below can be used for dialing in your current physique for a wedding, vacation, or any other special event where you want to look your best.

And for everyone who asked how the fitness competition went for me, thank you for your love and support! The entire weekend was a whirlwind and I woke up feeling like “did this all really happen?!”
When I started training for this competition my goal was honestly just not to place last or trip walking across the stage.
I was so grateful for the opportunity to compete with some amazing & hard working athletes. I was super proud of my husband for placing 4th in his class, and I was SHOCKED when they called me out as the winner of my class.
Whaaa?? Me?? I couldn’t believe that I won first place!
If you’re not familiar with bodybuilding/fitness competitions, the winners of each class then go on to compete for the title of “overall.” It was crazy to be called back onstage for this part of the show, and although I ended up losing the overall title by one point (yes…ONE! ☝️The judges said it was the toughest and closest call of the night) it was an honor just to be up there.
I understand fitness competitions aren’t for everyone (and that’s ok!) but I wanted to thank you for all of your encouraging messages and support as I worked towards this crazy out-of-my-comfort-zone goal.
I am so grateful for your love and support.
There’s so much more I want to say (like tell you about our midnight pizza party and some of the crazy dieting horrors I heard about backstage) but for now, I’ll leave you with a few more photos from the weekend….
