Healthy Salad Dressing Recipe
Healthy Salad Dressing Recipe
Need some help freshening up that boring ol’ salad?
For me one of the biggest changes I made when turning to the fat loss lifestyle was getting away from fat filled and sugar laden salad dressings.
I easily adapted to using olive oil and balsamic vinegar mixed with some of my favorite spices. Many people I have talked to, however, struggle a little more with finding good substitutions that aren’t filled with artificial sweeteners.
If you are one of those people then you are in luck!
My roommate recently came across this dressing recipe in an old family cookbook and I must say it is quite delicious! It goes perfect with a grilled chicken salad loaded with your favorite veggies. 🙂
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup low sodium chicken stock
- 3 TBSP lemon juice
- 2 TBSP fresh basil or 1 tsp if using dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tsp minced jalapeno peppers
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- ¼ tsp salt and pepper
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together and enjoy over your favorite salad. Store extra in an airtight container. 🙂
