Protein Powder for Moms
Raise your hand if you’re a mom. Raise the other hand if you work outside the home. Now stand on one foot if one of your kids is in diapers. If one of your kids is involved in extracurricular activities…well, you get the idea. It’s a juggling act. With the day’s to-do list, sometimes our own nutrition is the last to get crossed off.
Most of the women I work with discover as soon as they begin their fat loss journeys that they’re simply not getting enough protein in their diet.
As busy moms, we need protein! Whether your goal is related to fat loss, fitness, or even just general overall wellbeing, it’s important to make sure you’re getting enough protein! And, don’t worry, it won’t bulk you up!
Protein helps speed up your metabolism and balances your blood sugar levels, preventing insulin spikes, which can cause weight gain. Protein is made up of amino acids that your body needs, and it is the key to burning fat and increasing your metabolism!
But how do you get the protein you need without living off boring old chicken breasts (yuck!)? And what do you do as a busy mom when you’re constantly on the run?
I LOVE the option of using protein shakes to supplement my protein intake.

Trust me, I know, when I started my journey years ago, I thought the same thing. I looked at tubs of protein powder as my husband’s domain. As far as I was concerned, they were chalky tasting powders that you mixed with water and that did NOT appeal to me.
Fast forward a couple years and now I realize you can add a scoop of great tasting protein to just about anything. Baked goods, hot drinks, smoothies…the list goes on. No chalkiness, just great flavor that satisfies my sweet tooth. And it’s great on the run!

Most frequently, I use protein shakes after my BeyondFit Life workouts. But they make a great mid-afternoon snack, breakfast or evening meal replacement.

P.S. When Jackson and Warren hear the blender, they always grab a cup, run to the counter, and wait patiently for their shakes, just like mom. Kids need protein too! Here’s what my boys love!
